Our Managing Partner is Mrs. Ayo Obe, and our Consultant is Chief S. Olasupo Shonibare. They are assisted by other legal practitioners in the firm, some of whom are associates, while others are junior Counsel.

Mrs. Ayo Obe earlier practised with Messrs. G.O.K. Ajayi & Co. from 1979 to February 1991, where she was the most senior Counsel working with Chief G.O.K. Ajayi S.A.N. for ten years. She has had extensive experience in all aspects of civil commercial and criminal litigation in all levels, in particular in the Supreme Court of Nigeria, the Court of Appeal, High Courts and Tribunals.

Mrs. Obe was the President of the Civil Liberties Organisation, Nigeria’s first indigenous human rights organisation, from 1995 to 2003. She was also Chair of the Steering Committee of the World Movement for Democracy from 2004 to 2008. She is on the boards of several local and international organisations, including the Brussels-based International Crisis Group where she is Co-Vice Chair, and the Dakar-based Gorée Institute where she chairs the Board of Trustees. She was also a member of the International Advisory Council of Wal-Mart International and remains their consultant. In Nigeria Mrs. Obe is on the boards of the Centre for Law Enforcement Education, the Z.O. Dibiaezue Memorial Libraries and the community-based Ajegunle Community Project.

Chief Olasupo Shonibare also practised with Messrs. G.O.K. Ajayi & Co. from 1982-1984. He was attached to Steggles Palmer, Solicitors of 2, Bedford Row, London W.C.1 from 1984-1985, where he gained experience in
corporate practice and international project financing. Chief Shonibare led the Nigerian delegation to the African Regional Seminar on Intellectual Property Rights Protection held at Lomé in the Republic of Benin.

Ogunsola Shonibare are Legal Counsel to Guaranty Trust Bank plc., United Bank for Africa plc., Union Bank of Nigeria plc., Bank of Industry and several other public and private companies and individuals.

The firm has also handled instructions on behalf of overseas-based principals, such as Messrs. Holman, Fenwick & Willan, Le Brasseurs, Peters & Peters, and Messrs. Allan & Overy.

A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine.
